4 Essential Skills – Planning, Organizing, Prioritizing and Completing
Four skills that are fundamental at work are planning, organizing, prioritizing and completing projects and tasks. Planning is setting goals and defining the strategies that will be used to achieve those goals. Being organized enables us to control our workload, create a better work-life balance and feel more energized. Prioritizing establishes an effective workflow, with a focus on tasks that are considered the most urgent and most difficult. Planning, organizing and prioritizing are all geared to the final stage of completing the tasks – getting them done. Completion requires perseverance but, with self-awareness and basic strategies, everyone can learn to finish what they start. In this course psychologists Peter Quarry and Eve Ash explain these essential skills, and you will learn ways to improve them.
