Description

Introducing and describing yourself, then asking about the other person, can be the most challenging part of a conversation, especially if you feel a little shy when talking to someone new. It’s important to introduce yourself confidently and tell people a few things about yourself. This invites them to connect with you, and helps them to open up and identify if they have things in common with you. Ask about the other person, listen and show you are interested, so it is not only you doing all the talking. In this course, psychologists Eve Ash and Peter Quarry give suggestions for how you can introduce and describe yourself in conversation, and use documentary examples of real conversations to demonstrate their points.
