Description

Sensitive topics are those that people respond to emotionally. It might be a controversial subject that everyone reacts to in some way, or it could be a specifically personal issue for one person. Sensitive topics can come up even in a casual conversation with someone you don't know. In this course psychologists Eve Ash and Peter Quarry offer some tips and strategies for dealing with a sensitive topic. They use real life conversations to show how discussing sensitive topics requires empathy – listening without judging and being interested and supportive. Learn to ask, don’t assume, and be respectful and sensitive in what you say. Consider how your responses might affect the other person.
