Description

Peer mediation involving young school students is an effective initiative to enable intervention with minor conflicts and prevent them from becoming major problems and learning distractions. Older students, equipped with a mediator's kit, are trained by teachers, and empowered to mediate their younger peers and make them feel comfortable to talk about their problems. By listening and understanding, they can guide younger students to agree on solutions and manage future problems. Created by psychologist Eve Ash, this course provides practical real-life examples of training peer mediators and seeing them in action, all filmed in the junior grades of an Australian school.
